Q. What influenced your decision to become a wedding photographer?
A. I was influenced to become a wedding photographer because I have been to weddings as a guest and I have seen bad photographers passing themselves off as good photographers and being paid well for messing things up. I wanted to improve the image of the wedding photographer. And I really like the emotion of the day. Most often it’s a happy day and we all need more happiness around us.
Q. Describe your wedding photography style:
A. My style is photojournalistic. I am a journalist and I shoot weddings like a visual story. It has a beginning a middle and a happy ending.
Q. Describe your perfect client:
A. My perfect client is probably my last client. She was proficient, happy and on time.
Q. What is your favourite part of the wedding day(s)?
A. My favourite part of the day is the speeches, I like slide shows too.
Q. Where are your favourite places to shoot in Edmonton?
A. Favourite places to shoot in Edmonton are near the river in the valley, its quiet, the light is always changing and we can escape the city.
Q. Do you photograph weddings outside of the Edmonton area, and if so, where are you able to travel?
A. I photograph where my client wants me. Recently I have been in San Diego, Maui and Kananaskis. I love location weddings.
Q. What makes you different from other wedding photographers?
A.I am different from other photographers because I am patient, I am used to waiting and waiting for my shot. I don’t rush things because great images take time.
Q. If you were getting married (or if you were to do it all over again), who would you choose to photograph your wedding, and why?
A. If I was getting married again I would choose Jimmy Jeong to shoot my wedding, he sees the world around him in very visually quirky way.
Q. Do you photograph anything else other than weddings?
A. I photograph editorial material, sports, news and daily life for a daily newspaper and whatever else comes my way. Family portraits, pets, kids and engagement images.
