Q. What influenced your decision to become a wedding photographer?
A. I can’t really put my finger on one specific thing that influenced my decision to become a wedding photographer. When I started doing photography professionally, my focus was on event photography and that led to some inquiries to shoot a few weddings. I quickly discovered how much fun they are and how much of a challenge they offer to a photographer. Weddings are probably one of the biggest events in a couple’s lives and I feel so privileged to be a part of their big event and be able to capture all the details of the day.

Q. Describe your wedding photography style:
A. like to take a storytelling approach to covering a wedding so that when you look back at the images from the day they tell the complete story of everything that happened. I also try to shoot like a stealthy ninja so that you and your guests hardly notice that I’m there. This approach results in more natural looking photographs and ensures that I’m not detracting from where the focus should be – on the bride and groom. I’ve been to many weddings where the photographers are so obvious that they become the only thing you notice.

Q. Describe your perfect client:
A. I think my perfect client would be one who is open to trying anything to get a great shot, one who loves my style and trusts me to capture great images on their day.

Q. What is your favourite part of the wedding day(s)?
A. I really like spending time with just the bride and groom either before or after the ceremony. I find that a certain magic happens when it’s just the two of them together and all the stress and worries of the day take a backseat while they just enjoy being recently married or prepare to get married. Also I love to shoot receptions when everyone is having a great time and you just never know what sort of unexpected events might happen.

Q. Where are your favourite places to shoot in Edmonton?
A. I really enjoy discovering new locations in and around the city but one of my favourite places to shoot is at the University of Alberta. I find it offers a great variety of backdrops and locations as well as a few indoor locations that you can duck into in the event that mother nature decides to not play nice that day.

Q. Do you photograph weddings outside of the Edmonton area, and if so, where are you able to travel?
A. Absolutely. When I’m not working one of my hobbies is to travel so I love to leave the city and explore new locations. I’m available for travel aywhere in Alberta, Canada and beyond.

Q. What makes you different from other wedding photographers?
A. If you’re looking to hire a wedding photographer who really takes the time to get to know you and your family then I think that is one of the things that makes me different from other wedding photographers. Unlike some photographers who shoot 100 weddings a season, I try to limit the number of weddings I take on each year so that I can really provide first class service and attention to my clients.

Q. If you were getting married (or if you were to do it all over again), who would you choose to photograph your wedding, and why?
A. There are so many great photographers out there it’s hard to pick just one. As far as local photographers we would consider Jesh De Rox, Rob & Lauren and Andrea Hanki of Pink Sugar Photography. Outside of Edmonton, some of my favourite photographers include Chris + Lynn from Vancouver, Kevin Kubota from California, Jerry Ghionis from Australia, and Melissa Jill from Phoenix.

Q. Do you photograph anything else other than weddings?
A. In addition to wedding photography I love to do all types of event photography including corporate events, charity events, concerts, and sporting events. I also enjoy doing family and portrait photography and offer commercial and product photography services.
