Q. What influenced your decision to become a wedding photographer?
A. I have always loved to take photos from a very early age and then when I was in high school a good friend asked me if I would photograph her sister’s wedding. At such a young age I jumped into it with both feet. It was an amazing experience but I had much to learn so when I went to University I took photography courses and that really fuelled the fire within me. I’ve been photographing wedding ever since and constantly striving to create artistic images that evoke true emotions from my clients. For the most part it’s the satisfaction of making my clients the happiest people on the planet on their special day that has majorly influenced me and continues to influence me to be the best wedding photographer I can be.

Q. Describe your wedding photography style:
A. My wedding photography style is simple, artistic, energetic, fun, beautiful, clean, and high quality. I like to have fun with my clients while also creating artistically beautiful images that they can cherish for years to come. I try to capture every essence of the wedding day from the emotional moments to the finest details in order to complete a full package of high quality coverage. It’s the emotional response I get from my clients when they see their photos that lets me know I’ve made them ecstatically happy!

Q. Describe your perfect client:
A. My perfect client would be fun, energetic, and down to earth. They are good people that want high quality work and satisfaction. A willingness to play and are open to artistic/creative suggestions to get entertaining and unique shots. I’ve had the privilege of working with fun loving couples willing to wander through downtown back alleys or chase each other through canola fields or even chew double bubble gum on their wedding day all in the name of exciting and memorable photography.

Q. What is your favourite part of the wedding day(s)?
A. My favourite part of the wedding day would be the formal portraits with the bride and groom. Having that special time to relax with the couple from the hectic wedding day, take a breath and create some magic. I love thinking on the spot of great images that would transcend into magical works of art, then sharing my visions with the beautiful couple and having fun creating them.

Q. Where are your favourite places to shoot in Edmonton?
A. I love to shoot in unexpected locations like a back alley downtown or at an underpass for the trains to cross under the highway. Large open fields or a forest in the middle of nowhere. There are unexpected treasures to photograph in front of in every location in Edmonton even the common ones like the Old Arts building on campus or the Legislature grounds. Finding these hidden gems and getting the couple and their wedding party to interact within these unusual spots is the greatest fun of all.

Q. Do you photograph weddings outside of the Edmonton area, and if so, where are you able to travel?
A. Yes I’ve shot weddings in Mexico and I am very willing to travel to other countries. I am an avid traveler and I truly enjoy photographing everywhere I go. I have also photographed weddings in the surrounding areas of Edmonton like the Devonian Gardens, Cold Lake, Boyle, and Fort St. John, BC for examples. I love traveling for weddings because it creates a fresh set of surroundings and fabulous locations to photograph.

Q. What makes you different from other wedding photographers?
A. One of my greatest compliments I get is how much fun the people have when I photograph them and how sincere I am towards them. I would say that I not only try to create artistically aesthetic photographs but that I also try to make the experience an enjoyable one that they will remember for a long time. Or one they will refer back too and have a smile on their face. I strive to make people happy and evoke a personal emotional reaction from them so that they will experience the full package. I have a deep seeded passion for photography so I am always trying to outdo myself and I limit the amount of weddings I photograph per year so that I can properly dedicate the time and effort into the weddings I photograph.

Q. If you were getting married (or if you were to do it all over again), who would you choose to photograph your wedding, and why?
A. Well I haven’t gotten married yet but maybe one day it will be my turn. If I were to choose a wedding photographer I think I would choose Jesh de Rox because his form of photography is also seeded in the experience and his visual style is also quite different then my own. I enjoy his style of photography and it’s about the appreciation of one artist to another.

Q. Do you photograph anything else other than weddings?
A. Yes I also do different types of portraits (i.e. Families, children, newborn/maternity, pets, boudoir, couples, & individuals). I love to photograph people of any age and pets too. Capturing candid moments of joy, happiness, excitement, fun, love, and serenity are all part of the passion I have for photography.
